1) In the Middle Ages the pendant streamer hanging from the elbow-length sleeve of the tunic or gown. The term was also sometimes applied to the liripipe (see Liripipc).
2) A woman's shoulder cape, most generally of fur, fashionable from the seventeenth century onwards.
